Welcome to the Membership and Professional Development Committee
The Membership & Professional Development Committee is responsible for leading efforts to recruit, retain, and engage members of the ASIS Puget Sound Chapter while providing resources and opportunities for professional growth. This committee focuses on enhancing the value of membership by creating meaningful connections, fostering career development, and supporting educational initiatives that align with the chapter’s mission to advance security professionals in the Puget Sound region.
Key Mission

Membership Management
- Recruitment and Retention: Develop strategies to attract and retain members, including outreach to underserved groups and organizations within the security profession. Monitor membership trends and provide insights to chapter leadership on opportunities for growth.
- Engagement: Facilitate programs and campaigns to increase member engagement, including networking events, surveys, and volunteer opportunities. Oversee the administration of membership benefits, ensuring members experience the value of participation.

Membership Services: Act as a primary contact for member inquiries and feedback, addressing concerns to improve satisfaction.

Professional Development
- Program Development: Organize professional development initiatives such as certifications, webinars, workshops, and seminars tailored to the needs of security professionals. Collaborate with industry experts to deliver high-quality, relevant educational content.

Career Advancement: Promote mentorship programs, career resources, and job opportunities through chapter platforms. Facilitate partnerships with organizations and institutions to provide additional professional growth opportunities.

Community Building and Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with local security organizations, educational institutions, and professional associations to support membership and educational goals.

Lead efforts to diversify membership and ensure inclusivity in all chapter programs and events.

Strategic Planning and Reporting
- Develop and implement an annual membership and professional development plan that aligns with chapter objectives.
- Track participation and engagement metrics, providing regular reports to chapter leadership.
- Identify trends and emerging needs within the security industry to shape future initiatives.
Committee Chair Qualifications
Experience:

- At least 3-5 years in membership management, professional development, or related roles, preferably in a nonprofit or professional association.

Experience in the security industry or professional education is highly desirable.
Skills:

- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with membership management software (e.g., AMS/CRM) and online learning platforms (e.g., LMS).
