Welcome to the Marketing and Social Media Committee

The Marketing & Social Media Committee is responsible for enhancing the visibility, engagement, and outreach of ASIS Puget Sound Chapter through strategic marketing initiatives and effective social media management. This committee focuses on promoting chapter events, programs, and initiatives while fostering meaningful connections with the chapter’s membership and broader community. The Committee Chair ensures that all communications align with the chapter’s mission and values to advance the professional growth and collaboration of security professionals in the Puget Sound region.

Key Mission

  1. Marketing Strategy Development

    • Develop and implement an annual marketing plan to promote chapter initiatives, including events, professional development opportunities, and membership benefits.
    • Work closely with chapter leadership to ensure marketing efforts align with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance, adjusting strategies to maximize effectiveness and reach.

  2. Social Media Management

    • Manage the chapter’s social media accounts (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), ensuring regular and engaging content updates.
    • Create and schedule posts to highlight upcoming events, member achievements, and industry news relevant to the security profession.
    • Monitor engagement metrics and respond to comments or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

  3. Content Creation

    • Design marketing materials, including graphics, newsletters, email campaigns, and event promotions, to enhance member engagement and public interest.
    • Collaborate with chapter leaders and volunteers to source content for social media, newsletters, and the website.
    • Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all platforms and communications.

  4. Website and Email Communications

    • Oversee updates to the chapter’s website to ensure content remains current and relevant.
    • Coordinate email campaigns to promote chapter activities, provide updates, and engage members.
    • Ensure digital communications are accessible, visually appealing, and aligned with the chapter’s branding.

  5. Community Engagement and Outreach

    • Develop partnerships with local organizations, media outlets, and sponsors to amplify the chapter’s presence in the region.
    • Promote chapter events and initiatives to attract new members and strengthen ties with the broader security community.
    • Highlight the chapter’s impact and contributions through storytelling and member spotlights.

Committee Chair Qualifications

Experience:

    • Experience in marketing, social media management, or public relations, preferably within a nonprofit or professional association.
    • Experience in graphic design, content creation, or event promotion is highly desirable.

Skills:

    • Proficiency with marketing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), social media platforms, and website management systems (e.g., WordPress).
    • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills for creating compelling content.
    • Ability to analyze data and metrics to inform marketing strategies and demonstrate ROI.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Social Media Engagement: Growth in followers, post engagement, and overall reach across platforms.
    • Event Promotion Success: Increased attendance and participation at chapter events due to effective marketing campaigns.
    • Content Consistency: Timely updates to social media, email communications, and the chapter website.
    • Community Impact: Number and quality of partnerships established with local organizations and sponsors.
