Welcome to the Engagement Committee
The Engagement Committee plays a vital role in fostering a sense of community and belonging within the ASIS Puget Sound Chapter. This committee is focused on increasing member involvement, ensuring a positive member experience, and building strong connections across the chapter’s diverse membership. The Committee Chair develops strategies to engage members at all career stages, promoting participation in chapter activities and facilitating valuable interactions between members, sponsors, and the broader security community.
Key Mission

Member Engagement Strategy
- Develop and execute an engagement plan that encourages participation in chapter events, programs, and initiatives.
- Identify and address barriers to member involvement through surveys, feedback, and direct outreach.

Collaborate with other chapter leaders to align engagement efforts with the chapter’s strategic objectives.

Event Engagement and Support
- Work closely with event organizers to enhance member participation in chapter events, including networking mixers, workshops, and conferences.
- Serve as an ambassador during events, ensuring attendees feel welcomed and connected.

Coordinate icebreakers, small group discussions, or other activities that foster interaction and community building.

Communication and Outreach
- Maintain regular communication with members through newsletters, emails, and social media to keep them informed about chapter opportunities.
- Highlight member achievements and contributions to foster recognition and a sense of belonging.

Act as a liaison between members and chapter leadership, ensuring member needs and suggestions are heard.

Retention and Growth Initiatives
- Design programs to retain existing members, such as loyalty recognition, volunteer opportunities, and exclusive member benefits.
- Work with the Membership Chair to support recruitment and onboarding of new members, ensuring a seamless transition into the chapter.

Partner with the NextGen Chair to engage emerging professionals and students, building a pipeline for future membership growth.

Strategic Planning and Reporting
- Monitor engagement metrics, including attendance, volunteer participation, and member satisfaction, to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement strategies.
- Provide regular reports to chapter leadership on engagement trends, challenges, and recommendations.
- Develop innovative approaches to increase member engagement and build a thriving chapter community.
Committee Chair Qualifications
Experience:

- Experience in community engagement, member relations, or event coordination, preferably in a nonprofit or professional association.

Familiarity with the security industry and its professional challenges is preferred.
Skills:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a talent for relationship-building.
- Proficiency with communication tools (e.g., email marketing software, social media platforms).

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
