ASIS International is the preeminent organization for security professionals, with more than 38,000 members worldwide. Founded in 1955, ASIS is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests. ASIS also advocates the role and value of the security management profession to business, the media, government entities, and the public.

Key Offerings: ASIS International

ASIS administers three internationally accredited certifications: the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) and the Physical Security Professional (PSP).

Standards and Guidelines
An ANSI-accredited Standards Developing Organization, ASIS works with national and international standards-setting organizations to advance security practices worldwide through the development of standards and guidelines within a voluntary, non-proprietary and consensus-based process.

CSO Roundtable
The CSO Roundtable provides a dedicated forum for the most senior security professionals from the largest and most influential organizations in the world.

ASIS Foundation
The ASIS Foundation Funds and manages endowments for a wide range of academic and professional development activities; sponsors security industry reports and research, including the popular Connecting Research in Security (CRISP) reports.

ASIS International Puget Sound Chapter

ASIS Puget Sound Chapter #051 of ASIS International is a local chapter of about 425 members strong. We are a mix of private security professionals, public law enforcement and security technology vendors that continuously strive to enhance our profession in the Puget Sound region. Our membership includes employees from organizations such as Microsoft, Amazon, Boeing, Starbucks, Costco, Nordstrom, Federal Protective Services, and numerous other public law enforcement agencies & private corporations.

We believe in peer-to-peer networking, continuing education, certification and sharing of best practices to further the profession and enhance our posture in the community. The chapter leadership encourages use of the ASIS membership to be leveraged to its full potential through active participation in chapter initiatives, activities or volunteer efforts as well as community service.

Our Mission Statement

To be the best Chapter we can be by providing Quality and professional leadership to a diverse group of security professionals:

  • Through quality and timely documentation pursuing and obtaining the IB Hale Award for Quality and being recognized as an ASIS leading Chapter.

  • Providing consistent and accurate communication between board members, committees, members, and others that are either directly or indirectly involved with our Chapter.

  • Engage and continuously reach out to members and non-members throughout the year to solicit involvement, input, and feedback in order to bring “value and quality” to the Chapter.

  • Empower the staff so coordinators, committees, chairs and the board can use their unique talents and resources to allow us to be a successful and value added chapter which exhibits Quality.

  • Create and maintain an environment where members and non-members want to be a part of our Quality program; resulting in growth, sharing, education, diversity and added value for our chapter.

  • Match member’s abilities to opportunities in advancing not only their individual goals and aspirations but also solidifying the Chapter’s unique role in moving the security profession forward.

  • Utilizing collaboration, networking and creative thinking to continue to build a Chapter where hard work and fun are viewed as the formula for leadership and success.
